Police name man they want to speak to after horror stabbing on quiet Stockport street - as cops warn he may be armed and NOT to approach him

Police have named a man they want to speak to following a stabbing in Stockport.

Officers were called to Birchfield Road, Cheadle Heath, at 11.35am on Friday (September 3).

A man in his 40s was stabbed.

He was taken to hospital. His injuries were not believed to be life threatening.

Now detectives have named a man they want to speak to in relation to the incident - Allen Anthony Brown.

Police believe Brown, of no fixed address, may be armed and have urged members of the public not to approach him.

The 44-year-old has connections to Stockport and Manchester.
