Police are keeping an "open mind" after the body of a 36-year-old man was found in a Cardiff flat.

On Wednesday South Wales Police named the man found on March 17 as Naser Al Barghash.

Officers are continuing to investigate his death and are appealing for information surrounding Mr Al Barghash's movements in the days before his death.

It is understood that Mr Al Barghash was from Kuwait.

His body was discovered at around 9.30am on Wednesday March 17 and images from the scene showed a large police presence including a number of forensic officers.

“His family has been contacted and is being supported by specially trained police officer.

“I am appealing for anyone who may have any information concerning Naser’s movements in the days prior to Wednesday, March 17 to contact us so we can establish exactly what has happened.”

An incident room was set up at Cardiff Central Police Station following discovery of the body.

Pictures from the scene showed a number of police officers and an area behind one of the properties on Churchill Way cordoned off.
