Police name cyclist who died after collapsing in road in Sutton-in-Ashfield

Police have named a cyclist who died after collapsing in a road.

Officers were called to reports of a cyclist found collapsed in Ashland Road West, Sutton-in-Ashfield, at 3.10pm on Saturday, October 16.

Police said 61-year-old Steven Monk, of Sutton-in-Ashfield, died a short time later.

Investigation officer Sophie Law, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "Our thoughts are with Mr Monk's family at this very difficult time.

"We are working hard to investigate and understand the circumstances of this tragic incident.

"The family are being supported by specially trained officers at this time."

Witnesses and people with dash-cam footage are asked to call the police on 101, quoting incident 433 of October 16, 2021.
