Police name biker, 62, killed in Highland road crash

A biker who died in a Highland road crash has been named by police.

Lionel Beresford, 62, from Ardgay, died when his bike left the road on the A836 near Tain on Friday.

Police are appealing for witnesses who may have seen his orange Honda bike before the incident, which happened around 3.05pm.

The biker had been heading from Ardgay towards Edderton at the time.

Sergeant David Miller, of Highlands and Islands Road Policing Unit, said: “Our thoughts remain with Mr Beresford’s family at this sad time.

“We would urge anyone who may have dash-cam footage showing the motorbike travelling between Ardgay and Edderton, or saw anything that may assist our enquiries to get in touch."
