Police name a woman who died as she tried to cross Kingsway, in Burnage

A woman who died after a collision in Burnage has been named.

Police were called to Kingsway, close to the junction with Burnage Hall Road on Thursday night, to reports of a collision between a pedestrian crossing the road and a motorbike.

The woman has now been formally identified as 66-year-old Victoria Munnich.

She was fatally injured and sadly pronounced dead at the scene.  

The 40-year-old motorcyclist who was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries, remains there for treatment.

Specialist officers are supporting Victoria’s family who have asked for their privacy to be respected at this time.

Officers from GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are appealing for anyone with information to come forward and are particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have seen the motorcycle in the moments leading up to the collision.
