Police nab man, 24, allegedly linked to Anzac Day shooting

After a "targeted" shooting on April 25 wounded two people in Belconnen, ACT police say they have arrested a man allegedly connected to the incident.

It comes after two men travelling in a vehicle were shot on College Street, near Benjamin Way, about 2.50am on Anzac Day.

Both men had non-life-threatening injuries and took themselves to a hospital for treatment.

After weeks of investigation, police officers on Wednesday, June 4, searched two homes in Holt and Moncrieff.

During the searches, officers allegedly found a rifle, ammunition in different calibres, and evidence related to the shooting investigation which is still continuing.

Police arrested a 24-year-old man at the Holt location and charged him with unauthorised possession of a firearm, possessing ammunition generally, breaching bail and a court order related to providing access to electronic devices.

The man appeared in the ACT Magistrates Court on June 4.

ACT Policing have urged anyone with information regarding the incident to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, quoting reference number 8404047.
