Police have moved to calm fears of Craigneuk parents after claims a pensioner had approached children at a local park.
Social media had been awash this week with claims an elderly man had been spotted near boys and girls at the Wishawhill Wood pump track.
The post from a Facebook “local news” site stated that parents had surrounded the pensioner until cops arrived.

However, a Police Scotland spokesman told the Wishaw Press that the male was traced and spoken to.
His details checked out with no issues, with nothing on his phone relating to kids.
The spokesman added that the incident closed off with no further police action.
