Police motorbike officer seriously injured after horror car crash on Scots road

A police motorbike rider has been seriously injured after a horror car crash on a Scots road.

Both vehicles collided tonight on the A811 Stirling Road, Balfron.

A helicopter was seen overhead as emergency services rushed to the scene.

One social media user said: "I was there as it just happened. Didn’t look good at all, praying for them and their families."

Another commented: "Passed it as it hadn’t long happened, looked like a motorcycle and car had a bad smash. Police had just arrived."

One person added: "I passed it as well, there were people talking to the bike rider (still under the bike) so at least they were conscious. Hope they’re ok…"

The road has been closed between Kippen Roundabout and Kirk Lane with traffic diverted to Thornhill.

Police Scotland confirmed that there is an ongoing road incident in the area but were unable to give further details.

The news comes after a Scots woman died after being struck by a vehicle on the M8, near West Lothian yesterday.

A different woman was also hospitalised after a multi-car crash in on the A77 in Ayr, sparking a police probe.
