Police message for Nottingham Forest fans ahead of Sheffield Wednesday game amid coronavirus scare

The dedicated police officer for Nottingham Forest has urged fans to follow his Sheffield Wednesday counterpart's guidance after saying it is looking likely the game between the two clubs will go ahead.

Whether the fixture will be played as scheduled remains in doubt after Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis contracted coronavirus , something which was announced days after attending their defeat to Millwall at the City Ground.

Since then every player and member of staff who was tested for the virus was declared healthy , however, no final decision has been announced on whether to proceed with the fixture.

PC Simon Travell today tweeted to say he was pleased is still going ahead, as it stands.

Both Forest and the EFL have said they are in regular dialogue over the matter.

"The club will remain in close dialogue with the relevant governing bodies and football authorities to ensure the correct measures are taken," a Forest statement said.
