A hunt is under way for two armed robbery suspects after a shop was raided in County Durham.
Police were called to the Simply Food & Drink Store on York Road in Peterlee at 8.15pm on Sunday.
Two armed men had gone into the show and carried out the armed robbery before fleeing.
The kind of weapon used by the men has not yet been revealed by the police force.
A large police response was seen in the York Road area on Sunday evening as the investigation into the robbery was launched.
Durham Constabulary confirmed on Monday morning that the search for the two suspects was ongoing and a spokesperson said there was no further update.
They have asked anyone with information to contact them on 101 quoting reference DHM-09062019-0501.
