Police have launched a manhunt after a commuter was knocked unconscious during the morning rush hour at London Bridge Tube station.

The victim, a 31-year-old man, was walking down the passageways of the Underground station when he bumped into another man.

The man punched him in the head, knocking him unconscious.

The victim, who had been on his way to work at the time, suffered serious concussion and an injury to the head, as well as a broken shoulder.

British Transport Police (BTP) has released an image of a suspect as it appeals for information.

The assault happened at about 7.30am on July 5.

PC Paul Franklin said: “This was a shockingly violent attack which left the victim with significant injuries.

"We are very keen to identify the man in the photo and I would urge anyone who recognises him to get in touch with us as soon as possible.”

Anyone with information is asked to call BTP on 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 121 of July 5, 2019. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
