ORLANDO, Fla. _ An 81-year-old man sat down on a bench next to a mother and her 8-year-old daughter inside a Walmart on Friday, and he soon began grabbing the young girl's arm and kissed her wrist, according to Port Orange Police.
The man then offered the mother money in exchange for her daughter three different times, according to a police report. The mother grabbed her daughter and immediately left the store, police said.
Hellmuth Kolb of Port Orange was arrested on charges of false imprisonment of a child under the age of 13 and battery, according to the report. He was booked into the Volusia County Jail on no bond. The incident occured at the Walmart on Dunlawton Avenue.
The mother told police that she became "extremely uncomfortable" as Kolb began asking her if she was married and about her daughter, according to the report. She called police after leaving the store, authorities said.
Investigators tracked down Kolb with help from Walmart's security cameras and payment records from his credit card, according to the report.
