Police make two arrests after attempted arson of London synagogue

Two individuals have been arrested following an attempted arson attack at a synagogue in Finchley, north London, early on Wednesday morning.
The Metropolitan Police are treating the incident, which involved suspects placing glass bottles and throwing a brick, as an antisemitic hate crime.
A 47-year-old woman and a 46-year-old man were apprehended in the Watford area on Wednesday and remain in police custody.
CCTV footage showed two suspects, dressed in dark clothing and balaclavas, entering the synagogue grounds just after midnight.
The synagogue's senior clergy condemned the "cowardly acts" but affirmed their commitment to community building, stating they would not be intimidated.
