Police make further arrest in connection with murder of Moss Side teenager Mohamoud Mohamed

Another person has been arrested in connection with the murder of Moss Side teenager, Mohamoud Mohamed.

Known by pals as Momo, the 17-year-old suffered fatal stab wounds during a clash last Sunday (26 July) night, during which four other teenagers were stabbed.

Four teenage boys – two aged 15 and two aged 17 – were previously arrested in connection with the incident. They have since been released and face no further action.

A 16-year-old was previously arrested on suspicion of murder.

Detectives investigating Mr Mohamed's death have now arrested a 17-year-old boy on suspicion. He is currently being quizzed by officers.

Police were called to Henbury Street in Moss Side at around 7.15pm on Sunday to reports of a disturbance on Henbury Street.

Emergency services attended but Mohamed was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Another youth, a 16-year-old boy  was also seriously injured  after being stabbed just yards away on Rosbery Street in Moss Side as part of the same incident.

All four suffered stab injuries.
