Police make arrest following reported stabbing incident

A female remains in custody this morning following reports of a stabbing incident in South Belfast last night.

Police say they received reports that a male and female sustained stab wounds following an altercation in the Kitchener Street property at around 6.45pm.

A PSNI spokesperson added: "Police arrested a woman following an incident at a property in the Kitchener Street area of south Belfast last night, Tuesday 11 February.

"At around 6.45pm it was reported that a male and female had sustained stab wounds following an altercation at a house in the area. The 28 year old male sustained a wound to the back of his head and the 33 year old female sustained puncture wounds to her hand. They were taken to hospital for treatment and later released.

"The 27 year old female remains in custody at this time."
