Police make arrest after man found injured in Scottish town dies

A MAN has been arrested in connection with the death of another man in Renfrew at the weekend.

Officers were called to Tennant Street at around 4.20pm on Saturday, following reports of an injured man.

A 35-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

Locals reported that the street was taped off for hours, with forensics and CID in attendance. 

A 34-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the death.

The suspect is due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court on Monday.

A police spokesperson said: "We received a report of an injured man on Tennant Street in Renfrew around 4.20pm on Saturday, May 13.

"Officers attended and a 35-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. 

"A 34-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the death. 

"He is due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court on Monday, May 15."
