Cash is believed to have been taken from a staff member as they prepared to close a Coral bookmakers in Bestwood for the day.
Police officers investigating the theft are now looking to speak to a man with a ginger beard in connection with the incident.
It happened at the Coral betting shop in Arnold Road at around 9.30pm on Friday, June 28.
A Nottinghamshire Police spokeswoman said: "The man (pictured) is described as being in his mid-20s, 5’6, with a ginger beard and a medium build.
"If you recognise him or think you can help, please call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 991 of 28 June 2019."
