Police lockdown major Scots road after horror collision between cyclist and two cars in Aberdeenshire

Police have closed a section of the A90 in Aberdeenshire after a serious collision between a cyclist and two cars.

Emergency services were called to the scene near Boddam at around 2.30pm on Wednesday when the alarm was raised.

The busy road remains closed with local diversions in place at Toll of Birness and Peterhead.

Details of any injuries are not currently available.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 2.30pm on Wednesday, 2 December, emergency services were called to the A90 near Boddam, following a crash involving two vehicles and a cyclist.

“The road is currently closed, with diversions in place at Toll of Birness and Peterhead. “Emergency services remain at the scene.”

Traffic Scotland tweeted: “A90 remains closed in both directions at Boddam due to a serious RTC. The road is likely to be closed for some time.

“Emergency services on scene. Traffic is diverting via A952 to Mintlaw and A950 to Peterhead.”
