Police lock down street in Stepps after residents report hearing gunshots

Police locked down a street in Stepps near Glasgow after residents reported hearing gunshots.

Officers were called to reports of a firearm being discharged at a property on Flynn Gardens at around 7pm on Monday, December 30.

Nobody has been injured in the incident with police in north Lanarkshire carrying out door-to-door enquiries in the area.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 7.00pm on Monday, 30 December, officers attended Flynn Gardens in Stepps following a report that a firearm had been discharged at a house.

"No-one has been injured and enquiries, which are at an early stage, are ongoing.

"Officers are carrying out door-to-door enquiries in the area and are asking anyone with any information about the incident to call Police Scotland on 101 - quoting incident number 3296 of 30 December 2019."
