Two men hospitalised with serious injuries after Renfield Street brawl

Police have locked down a section of Sauchiehall Street after a 'disturbance' between two men.

Officers are currently outside the Burger King restaurant and have cornered a section of the pavement and road off.

A 27-year-old man has been taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and a 65-year-old man has been taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

Both men sustained serious injuries.

Emergency services are still in attendance and the road remains closed.

A spokesperson says enquiries into the incident are ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers were called to a report of a disturbance on Renfield Street, Glasgow, around 4.55pm on Monday, 29 March.

"A 27-year-old man has been taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and a 65-year-old man has been taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

"Both men sustained serious injuries. Officers remain on scene carrying out enquiries into the incident."
