Police lock down road near Scots holiday park as emergency crews deal with serious crash

Police have locked down a road next to a holiday park near Castle Douglas as emergency crews deal with a serious crash.

Cops were alerted to the incident on the A713 between Parton and St John’s Town of Dalry at 2pm this afternoon.

It is unclear as to how many vehicles are involved in the incident.

Traffic Scotland say that the crash happened just metres away from the Loch Ken Holiday Park.

Drivers have been urged to avoid the area while the emergency services remain at the scene.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Police and emergency crews were called to the A713 between Parton and St John’s Town of Dalry at 2pm today following a serious road crash.

“The section of the road has been closed to drivers while emergency crews are still on the scene.”
