Police lock down Glasgow street due to 'concern for a person'

Police locked down a Glasgow street on Sunday evening due to an incident where officers had "concern for a person".

Officers were sent to a property in Maryhill with people earlier urged people to avoid the area of Leyden Street and Bilsland Drive.

At around 5pm, Greater Glasgow Police tweeted: "Police are asking motorists to avoid the area of Leyden Street and Bilsland Drive in Glasgow while we deal with an ongoing police incident.

"Thank you for your patience in this matter."

Several police cars and vans, two ambulances and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service all attended the incident.

At around 9pm police conformed the situation had safely been resolved.
