Police left scratching their heads after cars found parked and secure in the middle of the road

Police have been left scratching their heads after a number of cars were mysteriously left parked in the middle of the road.

Bewildered officers took to Twitter to reveal pictures of three cars, a Ford Fiesta, and two Vauxhall Corsas, which had been left abandoned in Little Hulton, Salford.

One black Vauxhall Corsa was parked directly in the middle of the road, blocking both carriageways, while another was left at a junction blocking the road.

Another was left parked blocking the pavement.

The cars had been left locked and secure, police said.

On the GMP Traffic Twitter page, officers commented on the 'very odd' situation'.

"Bit of an odd day with abandoned vehicles on random roads in @GMPLittlehulton this morning.

"Very odd & all undamaged."

Baffled Twitter users also weighed in.

One said: "How bizarre. Not a new craze is it?"

Another said: "Maybe they just drifted in the wind :)"
