Police launch urgent search to trace Scots pensioner who vanished near train station

Police have launched an urgent search to trace a Scots pensioner who vanished in Glasgow this morning.

Officers say that Morag Steel, 77, was last seen walking near to Cathcart Train Station, Cathcart Road, in the Battlefield area of the city at around 7.40am on Thursday, June 1.

Morag is known to visit Glasgow city centre and has also previously used public transport, particularly buses, to travel to Argyll, West Dunbartonshire, Highlands and elsewhere in Scotland.

She is described as being 5ft 4in tall with grey hair.

When Morag was last seen she was wearing a pale yellow jacket, a pink scarf, grey trousers and black shoes with white soles.

Morag was also carrying a black bag.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Anyone who has information, or who may have seen or spoken to Morag since she was last seen is asked to call 101, quoting reference 1128 of 1 June, 2023."
