Police launch urgent search for wanted Newcastle man after alleged assault

Police are appealing for help in tracking down a Newcastle man they want to speak to in connection with an alleged assault.

Northumbria Police has issued a photograph of Dominic James as it urges anyone with information of his whereabouts to come forward. Already officers have searched a number of addresses associated with the 32-year-old in a bid to locate him.

Now they are turning to the public for help and also they make a direct appeal to Dominic James, advising him to hand himself in. A police statement said: "Enquiries are ongoing to trace 32-year-old James who police want to speak to in connection with an alleged assault.

"Police are now asking for anybody who believes they know where he may be residing to come forward with information." James is also encouraged "to hand himself in to the nearest police station as soon as possible".

James, or anyone who knows where he is, is asked to contact police via the Tell Us Something page of the police website or by calling 101, quoting crime number 115687S/21. Alternatively, information can be passed on via independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously by ringing 0800 555 111.
