Police launch urgent appeal to find 16-year-old friends missing since Wednesday

An urgent police appeal has been launched after two teenage girls vanished on Wednesday.

Concerns have been raised over the whereabouts of missing Monet Williams and Leah Monkman, who are believed to be together.

West Yorkshire Police took to social media today in a desperate bid to track down the youngsters.

The Facebook posts have so far been shared more than 3,000 times.

Officers say 16-year-old Williams was last seen in her school uniform, report Leeds Live .

She was wearing black trousers, a white blouse, Co-op Academy Leeds tie and a black parka with a fur round hood.

She has contacts in the South, East and North Leeds areas.

Monkman, who is also 16-years-old, is 5ft 6inches with a heavy build.

She has brown shoulder length hair, wears braces and has connections in the South, East, and North Leeds and Wakefield.
