Police launch search for missing teenager who vanished near Glasgow

A search has been launched for a missing teenager who vanished near Glasgow.

Concerns are growing for the welfare of 16-year-old Kai Rae, who was last seen leaving his family home on Castle Chimmins Road, Cambuslang, at around 8.50am on November 23.

We previously told how Kai's worried family had appealed for information over his disappearance, and that he had packed a bag and cash before leaving.

Sister Alisha Rae said his disappearance was out of character.

Alisha, 19, said: “It is not like him at all to do this. My mum came home from the school run at about 9am and he was gone.

"No-one has heard anything from him at all. We have been all over town and into Cumbernauld to find him.”

“He wanted to stay with me during the week and he couldn’t so that might be behind it.

"Everyone is very worried and just wants him to get in touch.”

Police have described Kai as white, 5ft 6ins tall, of slim build with short brown hair.

There was no description available of the clothes he was wearing when he disappeared.

A Police Scotland appeal stated: "Police are asking for the assistance of the public to help trace a missing male Kai Rae.

"If anyone has any information as to the whereabouts of Kai please contact Police via 101 and quote incident number 20201123-1144."
