Police have confirmed that a nun who was missing for five days has been traced safe and well.

Elizabeth Ngozi Nzekwe, 39, had last been seen around 10.35am on Monday, May 16 on the Largs Main Street.

She had been reported missing earlier that same day after disappearing from the Benedictine Monastery in the Ayrshire town.

Elizabeth had been described as a black female, 5ft 5in tall with a slender build.

She was wearing a Nun’s habit consisting of long black cloak and white headdress at the time of her disappearance.
