Police are appealing for information as part of their search for a missing 62-year-old man.
Edward Tams left his family home in Hartside Crescent in Backworth, North Tyneside on Monday at around 3.15pm in his Silver Vauxhall Astra and has not been seen since.
He is described as being of a medium build, and is bald with glasses.
He was last seen wearing a chunky cardigan with a hood, dark blue jeans and t-shirt and white Reebok trainers with a blue motif.
Superintendent Paul Stewart of Northumbria Police who is leading the search, he said: “This is highly out of character for Edward and his family are understandably extremely concerned.
“We are continuing to offer support to his family at this time and would ask anybody who has seen or heard from him, or might know his whereabouts, to please come forward.
"Any information, no matter how insignificant you might think it is, could prove crucial to finding him.
“Edward or anyone who knows his whereabouts should get in touch with police immediately.”
