Police launch search for man missing from Ayrshire home for more than a week

Police are searching for a missing Scots man who vanished from his home more than a week ago.

Stephen Dewar was last seen at his home address at Murray Gardens, Maybole on Friday, May 15  by neighbours.

The 33-year old has not been seen since, but has been in contact with family and friends via text messaging and social media.

Stephen is described as 5ft 6ins tall, slim build with brown hair.

He is known to have associates across South Ayrshire but particularly in Maybole and in Troon.

Chief Inspector Brian Anderson, Local Area Commander for South Ayrshire, said “Stephen has had limited contact with his family by social media since he was last seen but I am keen for officers to speak with him in person to ensure he is safe and well."

"I would ask anyone that knows where Stephen is or has information which might assist our enquiry to get in touch.

“If Stephen hears about this appeal or is reading this I would ask is that you get in touch with us so that we can ensure you are safe”.

Anyone who may have seen Stephen since this time, or who has any information, is urged to contact Police on 101 quoting incident number 0737 of 20 May.
