Police launch search for man in relation to Prestwick Town Centre attack

Police have released images of a man they wish to speak to in connection with an assault in Prestwick town centre.

The attack took place on Saturday, September 21, 2019 and they believe the man may have information that will assist their investigation.

The incident happened around 10.30pm on Main Street during which a 20 year old man was assaulted.

He subsequently required medical treatment.

The man in the image is described as a white, aged between 20 and 30, around 5ft 10 in height with a muscular build and short, light brown hair.

A police spokesman said: "This would appear to be an unprovoked attack that has left a young man with significant facial injuries.

"We believe the man in the image may have information that could assist us with our enquiries.

"I would ask anyone who knows anything about this incident or who recognises the male pictured to contact Police Scotland immediately via telephone number 101 quoting incident number 1288 of 21 September 2019."

Alternatively, information can be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
