Police find Alana McQueen safe and well after she went missing from Washington early on Tuesday

Police searching for a missing woman from Wearside say she has been found safe and well.

Alana McQueen, 28, had been reported missing after she was last seen in the Raeburn Avenue area of Washington shortly before 5.05am on Tuesday.

She had not been seen since and officers appealed to the public to look out for her.

In an update just after 11.30am, Northumbria Police said Alana had been found safe and well.
