A teenage girl went missing on the way to school prompting a police search.
Jessica Thompson was reported missing at 7.20am on Tuesday.
The 16-year-old was last seen in Gorton, Manchester as she was making her way to school.
An appeal on Greater Manchester Police's Manchester North facebook page read: "Her disappearance is out of character as she has not arrived at school.
"She is possibly frequenting the Droylsden and Ashton areas.
"Police are asking for anyone with information to contact us urgently, her family are extremely worried."
Jessica is around 5ft 4 inches tall, of slim build with long brown hair tied up in a ponytail.
She was wearing a grey skirt and black socks.
