Police launch probe after 'offensive' graffiti found beside Catholic church in Mossend

Police have launched an investigation after 'offensive' graffiti was found beside a Catholic church near Glasgow.

Police Scotland say the drawings were painted on boarding near a chapel in Mossend, Lanarkshire.

An inquiry has been launched and the local policing team in Bellshill are due to meet with representatives from the Diocese of Motherwell while investigating the incident.

Officers are also reportedly in contact with the local council and transport partners in a bid to facilitate the removal of the graffiti.
