Police launch probe after man attacked outside Bubbles bar in Ashington

Police are investigating reports of a man being attacked outside a bar in Northumberland.

Officers in Ashington received a report of an assault outside Bubbles on John Street just before 1am on March 7.

A man, aged 26, was found with minor injuries and he told police he had been attacked by a group of men.

Northumbria Police are now appealing for witnesses to the incident.

A spokesman said: "Shortly before 1am on Saturday, March 7, police received a report of an assault outside Bubbles on John Street.

"Officers attended and discovered a 26-year-old man nearby with minor injuries who reported that a small group of men had assaulted him before leaving the area.

"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances around the assault and officers are asking anyone with any information to get in touch."
