Detectives from the PSNI's Major Investigation Team have launched a murder investigation following the death of a 60-year-old woman at her home Belfast yesterday.
Police were called to the Windermere Road area on Sunday, August 16 and say a 61-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder remains in custody this afternoon.
Detective Inspector Jennifer Rea said: "I want to offer my condolences to the family and loved ones of the victim at this tragic time.
“I would appeal to anyone who has information they believe may assist our investigation to contact detectives on 101, quoting reference number 1566 of 16/08/20.
"Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 and is 100% anonymous."
