Police launch murder investigation after body found in search for missing 18-year-old

Police searching for a missing 18-year-old woman have confirmed they have now launched a murder investigation.

Bobbi-Anne McLeod was reported missing after she failed to meet with her friends in Plymouth on Saturday.

Officers had launched a major search operation but have now confirmed a body, believed to be Bobbi-Anne, was found.

Formal identification is yet to take place.

But two men, both from Plymouth, have been arrested.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesman said: "Sadly, earlier today the body of a woman was located near Bovisand, South Hams during searches by police officers. These searches were carried out following information received by police.

"Formal identification has yet to be carried out but the family of Bobbi-Anne McLeod have been informed of this development and are being supported by investigators.

"Two men, aged 24 and 26 from Plymouth have been arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in police custody at this time."

The investigation is on-going and anyone with information is asked to contact Devon and Cornwall Police quoting incident number 706 of November 22.
