A life-saving defibrillator is believed to have been stolen from a wall in Belfast.
The Shankill Road device went missing some time last week, sparking a police investigation.
A PSNI spokesperson said: "A few days ago, we received a report that a defibrillator that had been installed on the wall outside the Ulster bank, 185 Shankill Road, was missing.
"We believe that it may have been stolen and have now launched an investigation.
"This machine was bought by the local community for the benefit of all and it goes without saying, however this is vital life saving equipment - it really can save lives. We would love to see it returned.
"If you have any information on the whereabouts of this device, please contact police on 101 quoting incident number 1526 of 28/10/2019,
"Let’s work together to get this equipment returned."
DUP Councillor Nicola Verner told Belfast Live that those responsible are "thoughtless".
She said: "The defibrillator is a life saving device. The whole point of it being somewhere accessible is so that in an emergency a life can be saved.
"Whoever has removed it is thoughtless and has no regard for those in our community. I really hope that this piece of vital equipment can be found and replaced as you can never tell when it may be needed.
"I hope no one is left at risk of dying because someone thought they would ‘have a laugh’ or mess about with a life saving device. Anyone with information to aid with the return, please contact the PSNI."
