Police have launched an enquiry following the death of a man found injured on a West Lothian footpath.
Officers have confirmed the death of a man in Livingston after he was found in the early hours of this morning.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers were called to the Deans area of Livingston following a report of a man having been found injured around 3am on Tuesday, 16 November, 2021.
“The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing.”
Locals reported seeing police activity in the area, saying a footpath to Eliburn Park had been taped off.
Another who lives at nearby Buchanan Crescent said: “Back path is cordoned off so nobody can walk through. We watched them put it up this morning and apparently there is more police at the underpass.
“Police won’t say anything but very worrying.”
The police spokesperson said an appeal will be issued later today and anyone with information should get in touch.
