Police launch investigation after body of man discovered on Salford street

The body of a man has been discovered by police in Salford.

Police were called to Agecroft Road, with the junction of Kilcoby Avenue, in Agecroft, shortly before 11.30am on Monday morning (January 20).

Officers discovered the body of a man.

It is understood the man's body was discovered in the street.

A scene is in place while officers continue to investigate.

A statement released by Greater Manchester Police said: "Shortly before 11.30am this morning (Monday 20 January 2020), police were called to Agecroft Avenue at the junction with Kilcoby Avenue.  

"Sadly, officers discovered the body of a man.

"A scene is in place whilst investigation work continues.  

"The investigation is in its early stages and officers are working hard to establish the circumstances of the man’s death."

Anyone with information should contact police on 101, quoting incident number 1067 of 20/01/20. Reports can also be made anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
