Police were called just after 10:35 a.m. to West 47th Avenue after someone was found dead in the area, Officer Tom Tomasic, a spokesman for the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department, said in an email.

There, officers found the body of a man in his 60s inside a public donation receptacle.

Police believe the man may have been sleeping in the bin from time to time, Tomasic said.

There were no immediate signs of foul play at the scene, he added. A death investigation is ongoing.
