Police launch investigation after 12 greyhounds are stolen from Cramlington kennels

Northumbria Police have launched an investigation after 12 greyhounds were stolen from kennels.

The dogs were stolen from a kennels opposite the Bay Horse Inn in Cramlington.

It is believed that the dogs were stolen between 4.30pm on Tuesday and 7.45am on Wednesday.

A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “An investigation has been launched after the theft of 12 greyhounds overnight from a kennels opposite the Bay Horse Inn, Cramlington.

“Offenders gained access to the kennels at some point between 4.30pm on Tuesday (January 19) and 7.45am today and stole a number of dogs that were being accommodated there.

“Inquiries are ongoing to locate the dogs and identify those responsible.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact us via the ‘Tell Us Something’ page of the Northumbria Police website or by calling 101 quoting log 132 200121.”
