Police have launched a search following reports a "partially clothed" elderly man walking in Balerno in the early hours of this morning.
The man, who is thought to be in his seventies, was sighted in the area at around 4:20am. He is described as having thinning white or grey hair.
Police Scotland's air support and dog units were called in to search the area in a bid to trace the man, who officers have expressed concern for.
Officers are now appealing to anyone with information, or who may be concerned about a friend or family member in the area.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland via 101 quoting incident 772 of 21 September 2019.
