Police launch frantic search for Scots pensioner who suddenly vanished from town

Police have launched a frantic search for a pensioner who suddenly vanished from Peterhead.

Concerns are growing for missing James Watson who was last seen around 4am this morning in Copelandhill Crescent.

The 83-year-old has not been in contact with anyone since leaving officers fearing for his safety.

He is described as around 5ft 6ins, with white, balding hair and a white beard. He was last seen wearing blue trousers and a grey top.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We are appealing for the public’s assistance to trace a man reported missing from the Copelandhill area of Peterhead.

"The 83-year-old has not been seen or in contact with anyone since and concern is growing for his welfare.'

"Anyone with information can contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 1000 of Saturday, 16 October, 2021.
