Police launch frantic search for pensioner who suddenly vanished

Police have launched a frantic search for a pensioner who suddenly vanished in Aviemore.

James Brannan went missing from the Corrour Road area of the town sparking concerns.

The 72-year-old was last seen during the late afternoon of Saturday, 5 February, in the area of Spey Valley Golf Club.

He is believed to have been wearing blue jeans, a dark winter jacket and walking boots.

James is described as being around 5’10” in height and of thin build with medium-length grey hair and a grey beard.

Police Scotland said: "James was last seen during the late afternoon of Saturday, 5 February, in the area of Spey Valley Golf Club.

"He is believed to have been wearing blue jeans, a dark winter jacket and walking boots.

"He is described as being around 5’10” in height and of thin build with medium-length grey hair and a grey beard.

"James was reported missing on Tuesday, 8 February and officers are concerned for his wellbeing and safety.

"We would urge anyone who has information regarding his whereabouts to contact 101 with reference number 1601 of 8 February."
