Police launch CCTV appeal after sighting of missing Scots woman Amanda Pickens

Police have launched a CCTV appeal after a sighting missing Scots woman Amanda Pickens.

The 52-year-old, who goes by Mandy, vanished from her home in Banff yesterday.

She had sparked a frantic police search after disappearing at about 9am from the Banff town centre area.

Police believed to have spotted Mandy on number 35 bus to Elgin (Police Scotland)

Now police believed to have spotted her on number 35 bus to Elgin before getting off at the station at around 4.17pm on Wednesday afternoon.

Mandy is described as 5’7” tall, slim build, she now has blonde hair unlike her photo and speaks with an english accent.

She is thought she is wearing knee length black jacket and black boots.

PC Greig who is dealing with Mandy’s disappearance: "I am keen to speak to anyone who thinks they may have seen Mandy between 9 am and 5 pm on 17 February 2021.

"Mandy would be well known in the Banff area. She has been known to travel, by bus, to Aberdeen.

"If you were on a bus today and think you saw Mandy then please call 101 and quote incident 2361/17th."

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Following the earlier appeal for help to trace Amanda Pickens, who has been reported as missing from Banff, we are still looking to trace her.

"Thanks to assistance from the public from the initial appeal, it would appear she may be in the Elgin area.

"The photo is believed to be of Amanda yesterday on the number 35 bus to Elgin.

"She exited the bus in Elgin at 1617 yesterday at the bus station.

"This is currently the last sighting of her.

"Anyone with any information regarding her whereabouts can contact Police on 101, or via the Police Scotland website."
