Police launch CCTV appeal after man attacked with knife at Gloucester Road newsagents

Police are appealing for witnesses after a newsagent was attacked with a knife in Bristol this morning (Sunday, August 18).

The incident happened at a newsagents in Gloucester Road around 7.40am.

According to Avon and Somerset police a man entered the store while the newsagent was mopping the floor of the shop.

The suspect then, for no apparent reason, attacked the newsagent who fought him off, forcing the suspect out of the shop. He did not take anything from the shop.

The newsagent was not seriously injured despite being attacked with a knife, which was recovered following the incident.

Police have released an image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident who they believe can help with enquiries.
