Police launch CCTV appeal after girl, 13, is assaulted in Wallsend

Police have released CCTV of a man they wish to trace after a young girl was assaulted in North Tyneside.

Officers launched an investigation after reports a man had assaulted a 13-year-girl on Denbigh Avenue, Wallsend.

The teenager was not seriously injured but police say she was left 'incredibly shaken' by the incident shortly after 5.30pm on June 8.

Northumbria Police has now released a picture of a man who was in the area at the time of the assault.

Officers wish to trace him as they believe he may be able to assist officers with their inquiries.

The man or anyone with any information is urged to contact Northumbria Police via 101 or by using the ‘Tell Us Something’ page on the force's website quoting reference number 747 08/06/20.

Alternatively, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
