Police launch appeal to trace Scots teen not seen for more than two weeks

Police have launched an appeal to trace a missing Perth teen who vanished more than two weeks ago.

Nathan Troup, 15, has not been seen since Wednesday November 3 but was only reported missing on November 17 after making contact with a friend on social media that day.

Officers say Nathan is white, around 5ft 4ins tall, of slim build and with freckles on his face.

They believe he is likely to be wearing a brown canvas-style jacket, a black hoodie and jeans or tracksuit bottoms.

And while the missing teen is described as having shoulder length, "unkempt" hair, the most recent picture available of Nathan issued by officers was taken four years ago.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police enquiries have established he was in contact with a friend via social media during the evening of Wednesday, 17 November, 2021.

"Nathan is known to frequent the Perth centre area and has links to Dunsinane Drive.

"Anyone who has seen or spoken to Nathan, or who knows of his current whereabouts, should contact Police Scotland via 101 and quote incident number 2126 of 17 November 2021."

Locals have taken to social media to express their hopes that Nathan comes home.

One said: "Hopefully he is found safe and well."

Police have since traced the teenager.

In a statement tonight they said: "We’re pleased to confirm that missing 15-year-old Nathan Troup has been traced safe and well."
