Detectives have launched an appeal for information following the death of a 47 year-old man in Ayr yesterday.
He was found injured on the town's Walker Road at around 12.40pm and taken by ambulance to Ayr Hospital, where he died a short time later.
Detective Sergeant Craig Semple said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the exact circumstances surrounding this death.
"A post mortem examination will be held in due course, however meantime the death is being treated as unexplained.
“A number of people went to assist the injured man on Walker Road and I would ask anyone who assisted who has not yet spoken to police to please contact officers.
“Anyone with information that may assist our ongoing enquiries is asked to contact 101 quoting reference number 2161 of 25 October.”
